Donald W. Dark, 81, of Parish, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at his home. Born in East Syracuse, he had lived in Schroeppel's Bridge and Saranac Lake before moving to Parish about 23 years ago. Before retiring, he was a Supervisor at Niagara Mohawk where he worked for 36 years, first in Syracuse and then Saranac Lake. Don was a 55-year member of the I.B.E.W. in Syracuse.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former, Betty Davis; two daughters, Bonnie (Charles) Stanard and Penny Dark, both of Parish; three sons, William (Diane) of Palermo, Robert (Carol) of Gold Beach, OR and Timothy (Laura) of Turnwater, WA.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Duffy of Tempe, AZ.
Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2007 at the WATSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 631 So. Main St., Central Square with burial in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Parish Volunteer Fire Dept. or to the Palermo Volunteer Fire Dept
