Betty J. Dark, 89, of Parish, passed away on Wednesday. Born in Liverpool, Betty resided near Schroeppel's Bridge and in Saranac Lake before retiring in Parish. She retired from Saranac Lake Hospital as a LPN and continued to work private care duty. Betty was a very active volunteer for the Red Cross and was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending time at their family camp in Cranberry Lake. Betty is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Donald Dark, in 2007 and her son Timothy in 2008. She is survived by her children Bonnie (Charles) Stanard, William (Diane) Dark, Robert (Carol) Dark, and Penny Dark; sister Elsie Raglione; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Funeral Service: Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Watson Funeral Home, 631 S. Main St., Central Square. Calling Hours: Monday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, following the service. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204 and/or Parish Fire Department.
