Arrangements entrusted to Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen. Visiting at Sharon Baptist Church New Fellowship Hall in Port Allen until funeral service, conducted by Brother Shawn Ostoj and the Rev. James Womack. Interment in the church cemetery.
Survived by her six daughters and five sons-in-law, Clara and Arno Easterly of Bossier City, Shirley and Calvin Delaughter of Chugiak, Alaska, Lynda Gayle and Gary Lott of Erwinville, Maudie Stephenson of Port Allen, "Tootie" Earlene and Jerry Day of Richland, Miss., and Beth and Terry Swanson of Port Allen; five sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Ida "Cele" Speights of Port Allen, David "Pete" and Patsy Speights of Kiln, Miss., Lesley and Katie Speights of Erwinville, Charlie and Lanell Speights of Baton Rouge, and Joe and Ollie Speights of Port Allen; two sisters, Ernestine Hebert of Gonzales, and Odeene Ulmer of Laurel, Miss.; a brother and two sisters-in-law, J.J. "Sonny" and Nethel Ulmer of Lecompte, and Lois Ulmer of Spokane, Wash.; 29 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was known as Maw Maw to many "adopted" children and grandchildren, and loved by all.
Preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Shirley "W.S." Speights; daughter, Velma Aline Speights; parents, J.T. and Bessie Ulmer; brother, John Ulmer; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sharon Baptist Church Building Fund, 9433 Section Road, Port Allen, LA 70767.
