WOODWARD--Melvin A. Keen, 90, of Woodward died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 1994, at Center Community Hospital, State College. Born July 22, 1903, in Potter Township, Center County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Collie (Houser) Keen. In 1924, he was married to the former Sarah E. Bartley.
Mr. Keen farmed for 25 years in the Penns Valley area and was also employed as a truck driver and high lift operator by Neidigh Brothers before retiring in 1968. He was a member of God's Missionary Church, Millmont.
In addition to his wife, he was survived by one granddaughter, Mary Brungart of Rebersburg. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Fay M. Hartley, who died in 1992. His funeral was conducted at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, Millheim, by the Reverend Paul West.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Millheim.

He was born July 22, 1903, in Potter Township, Centre County, a son of Thomas and Collie Houser Keen. On July 23, 1924, he married Sarah E. Bartley, who survived.
Mr. Keen was a truck driver and high lift operator for Neidigh Brothers, Oak Hall, retiring in 1968. He farmed for 25 years in the Penns Valley area.
He was a member of God's Missionary Church, Millmont.
He was survived by his wife and one granddaughter.
Services were at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, Millheim, with the Reverend Paul West officiating.

Collie Houser, 98, died at Centre Crest Saturday, May 16, 1981.
She was born in Potter Township, Centre County, July 4, 1882, a daughter of George and Lizzie Shreckengast Gingerick. She was married to Edward Houser, who died in 1940.
Survivors: one son Melvin Keen of Woodward; two step-sons, Frank Houser and Floyd Houser, both of Snow Shoe.
