Rule lived just two days. He was interred on 1/5/1916. He was a "blue baby" which is a medical complication that was later solved by modern medicine. Blue babies had a serious congenital heart condition causing four structural abnormalities in the heart that lead to a lack of oxygen in the blood. This condition can cause a baby to look blue, though it usually occurs at birth. This was the subject of an American Experience documentary called "Partners of the Heart."
