Mrs. C. M. Reich, 78, Widow of Senate Aide
Mrs. Chester M. Reich, 78, an area resident for 60 years, died Monday after a heart attack at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Virginia Hyde, in Annapolis, Md.
A native of Linden, Va., she was the daughter of Frank M. Angelo, a lieutenant in Confederate Gen, John S. Mosby's Rangers during the Civil War. Mrs. Reich lived at 1901 Powhatan road, West Hyattsville, Md.
Mrs. Reich was the widow of a former assistant Financial clerk of the Senate. Mr. Reich died in 1939.
Mrs. Reich was active in welfare work with the Woman's Auxiliaries to the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was also a member of the St. John's Lodge Chapter, Eastern Star.
Besides Mrs. Hyde, she leaves two other daughters, Mrs. Margaret Vaso of the home address and Mrs. Elaine Hedgecock of Winston-Salem, N. C.; two sons, Walter L. of 200 Rhode Island avenue N.E., and Merrill of Norfolk, Va.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Purlee of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Rosa Hunter of Washington. She also leaves nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Hines funeral home, 2901 Fourteenth street N.W. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.
