He was a 1943 graduate of Mecca High School, served in the Marine Corps from 1944-46 in the Pacific theater during WWII, and returned to serve in the National Guard.
His wife of 36 years, Carolee Harney Morlan whom he married in 1947, preceded him in death in 1983. He was also preceded in death by Ben "Bennie" Lige Morlan, brother (2019), and Marjorie Frances Jackman, sister (2011). He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ellen Lucille Morlan, residing in Vermillion Convalescence Center in Clinton IN; daughters Sandy Lee Street (Danny) of Frankfort, IN; Donna K. Shaw (Steve) of Mechanicsville, VA; Jeana Marie Dickinson (David) of Columbus, Ohio, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a faithful member of the Bridgeton Baptist Church. He was employed by the Central Indiana Aggerates Company for many years and retired in the early '70s. He was a faithful, loving, generous man who served many in his community during his long life. He was loved immensely here on earth and will be loved more by his Heavenly Father.
Services and burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2019, at the Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7500 North Clinton, Terre Haute, Indiana 47805, with Pastor Jack E. Hopkins, officiating. Visitation is from 4-6 pm Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Roselawn Funeral Home.
