The funeral of Richard W. Emigh, 52 year old Rock City Falls resident who died suddenly Wednesday night [13 Aug], will take place at the late home 2:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Rev. Thompson of Hudson Falls, former pastor of the Rock Falls Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Rock City Falls Cemetery.

Mr. Emigh was born in this county and always resided in this vicinity. He was employed as a third hand on a paper making machine at the Rock City Falls plant of the U. S. Rubber Company and Wednesday morning the third finger of his right hand became caught in the machine, the end of the finger being severed.

He was taken to a Saratoga Springs physician’s office where the wound was dressed and then he returned home. During the afternoon he complained of a pain across his chest and a physician was summoned. In the evening Mr. Emigh complained that the chest pains were growing more severe and the physician was again called, but Mr. Emigh lapsed into unconsciousness and died before the physician arrived.

After an autopsy yesterday afternoon, Coroner Frank J. Rowland announces that death was due to heart trouble.

Mr. Emigh was born June 28, 1878, and was a member of Franklin Lodge, F. and A.M. of this place, and of the Rock City Falls Methodist Church. He leaves besides his wife, Lillian Woodward Emigh, five children, Lloyd W., Roland J., Dorothea, Harold R. and William D. Emigh, who reside home; his mother, Mrs. Jarvis Emigh, of Rock City Falls; one sister Mrs. M. Tabor, or Mechanicville; one brother, Allison Emigh, of Middle Grove, and several nieces and nephews. Members of Franklin Lodge will attend the funeral and will conduct the Masonic burial service at the grave.
