Mrs. Maggie Blades died April 12 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Bergman, in Tobacco township. Funeral services were held Friday at the Dale Methodist church with the Rev. Sailor officiating. Burial was in the Dale cemetery. She was born February 3, 1869, in Berrien county and in girlhood joined the United Brethren church at Maple Grove. She was married to Chas N. Parkinson of Dowagiac, Michigan and to them were born two children. In 1898 she was widowed and in 1907 was married to Robert J. Blades, of Beaverton. One daughter was born to them.
Surviving are three children, Percy Parkinson of Detroit, Mrs. Lawrence Bergman; of Beaverton, and Mrs. John Crowell, of Midland; also 16 grandchildren, four of whom are in the armed services. Gladwin County Record dated 04-19/1944 Column - 5 Page - 4
