WINSTON SALEM – L.C. “Clinton” Bobbitt, 79, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. L.C. was born on February 26, 1940 in Grayson County, VA to Carl Eugene and Katie Pole Bobbitt. He loved his family and his church. L.C. retired from Vulcan Materials as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He also loved working in the garden, plowing, and growing flowers. In addition to his parents, L.C. was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe, Jim, Richard, Willy and Boyd Bobbitt; two sisters, Ethel and Ruby; and one granddaughter, Olivia Marie Bobbitt. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Ila Berlene Bobbitt; a daughter, Shawn Annette Bobbitt; a son, C. Thomas Bobbitt; one granddaughter, Brianna N. Watts; a sister-in-law, Audrey Mason; and a brother-in-law, Arnold Halsey. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7027 Albert Pick Rd, Greensboro, NC 27409.
