Mary and Walter met through some friends who called themselves the Lemon Bunch. Several other couples met this way also.
Mary married Walter Joseph Condie on July 25, 1912 in Paterson, New Jersey. While in Paterson they had five children: Joseph Walter Condie, Francis W.(Frank) Condie, Carolyn Elizabeth (Carrie) Condie, Robert Victor (Bob) Condie, Marion L. Condie.
She was in many public performances including "Mighty Midgets" where she played the leading role of Prince Obdillous. She even played piano on the radio station WIP in 1928 at Philadelphia.
Walter procured a job as master electrician in sunny Florida working on the big ships designing and putting all the electronics on them. Marion, being the youngest daughter, went with her parents and spent four long humid years on the gulf side of Tampa. Remember there was no air-conditioning in the 1940's.
In 1942 they relocated to the cooler North where they lived at 205 Poplar St., Bridgeport, Fairfield County, Connecticut and Walter worked for Acme Shear Company at 82 Hicks St. at Bridgeport, Connecticut. At some point he switched over to working at the Lock Steel Chain.
It was at this time they moved into the second floor apartment on Laurel Court. His daughter, Carrie and her two sons lived downstairs.
