Chris, as he was known to everyone, was born on a bitterly cold day in Constableville, NY, the son of Carrie Kinney Evans & Robert C Evans sr. His sister Katrina, who everyone called Sissy, passed away when they were cildren. He was the grandson of Christmas E. & Emily Evans and Clayton W. & Hattie A. Kinney. He's the father of Shane.

He moved to Pulaski, NY, as a child, where he received his early education. He worked for the Pulaski bowling alley while still in school, which fostered his love of the game.

After graduating he went to college for a time, before going to work in New England for a tree service. He lived a few years in Rhode Island, where he was also a member of the South Foster volunteer fire department, eventually becoming a lieutenant. He was always proud of his time spent being a fireman, speaking of it fondly.

When he returned to NY the rest of his life was spent in Pulaski. He worked for almost 18 years at Oswego County Opportunties as bus driver, where he loved his passengers and was deeply saddened when he eventually had to give it up.

Chris was very tough, a survivor of Hodgkins lymphoma as well as lung cancer. He tried to help people as they struggled with their illnesses, understanding how difficult it was to go through.

Bowling was a favorite hobby, but he really loved watching car racing. Often he and his son would go to local tracks, coming home late, dirty and tired but very happy. Chris enjoyed F1, Indycar, pretty much any car racing! He was always happy when the weather was good and the racing season was on, Brewerton Speedway was a favorite of his. Watkins Glen was a yearly ritual, going for the weekend NASCAR and had been there for the Indycar and other special race.

When he was still able Chris enjoyed gardening, he was very proud of his giant hostas, deep red poppies, and purple cone flowers. His real love was for daffodils, and he grew over 100 different cultivars, so he could get as long a bloom season as possible. He loved purple, so he often tried to grow purple varieties of flowers.

Chris enjoyed working on plastic canvas projects, often giving crafted items to friends and family. He liked making homemade tomato sauce, and was proud he grew his own bay tree for seasoning. He kept tropical fish, liking a well planted tank and fussing over them.

Chris is survived by his mother, his son, as well as several cousins. He is also survived by his beloved bird, Goldy.
