Ruby Ethel Bendsen, 91, of Kansas City, MO, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2007. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman, 10507 Holmes Road, with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Ruby was born on May 5, 1915 in Van Buren, MO. She was the daughter of George W. and Mary C. (Clark) Baker. She moved to Kansas City in 1934 at the age of 18 and worked at a local furniture store operated by Ove Bendsen. Ove and Ruby were married on January 12, 1935. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1970. Ruby loved taking walks, growing flowers, bird watching and spending time with her wonderful neighbors on 96th terrace. She was a member of Southside Christian Center and very active in the Jolly 60`s Club. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her brother, Bert Baker and wife, Treesa of Kansas City, MO, sister, Dorothy Towner of Van Buren, MO, along with a host of nieces and nephews. "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God for them who are called according to his purpose" -Romans 8:28.
