Billy Hackler, 77, died at his home in the Bennington's Mill section, near Comers Rock, on Wednesday morning, February 19. Death followed an illness from pneumonia.
Surviving are one son, Arthur Hackler, who lives near Comers Rock, and several grandchildren, as well as the following brothers: Wiley Hackler, near Galax; Alex Hackler, Tennessee, and Emmett H., Bud and Elbert Hackler, all of whom reside near Comers Rock.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at Fellowship Baptist Church, near Comers Rock, by Rev. Carlie McKnight, Independence, and burial was in the Sixteen-Acre Cemetery, near the home of the deceased.
