It is logical to presume that Alvy and Dorcas divorced, likely as the result of his having come West to California during the Gold Rush.]

NOTE: Sometime around 1883, Alvy's son, Emery Alison Boles and his family moved from Genoa, Nevada to Placerville, El Dorado County. E. A. Boles thereafter purchased property adjacent to the Union Cemetery (now known as Placerville Union Cemetery), where three young children died and were buried on his private property. During his residency in Placerville, E. A. Boles was the co-proprietor of a Blacksmith Shop in the City of Placerville.
