Funeral services for George Quincy Hatch son of Ancel and Phoebe Brown Hatch of South Bountiful were held in the local chapel Saturday, May 21 at 12:30 p.m.
Prayer at the mortuary prior to the services was spoken by Hyrum B. Parkin. Bishop Geo. E. Ellis conducted the services. Preliminary organ music was rendered by Ardella H. Mills.
David E. Howard offered the invocation after which Bishop Ellis spoke briefly of the lifetime service of the deceased in the ward and expressed appreciation on behalf of the family for services rendered during the illness and death of the departed.
Joseph Wood accompanied by Ardella H. Mills sang "Dear Lord, Forgive." Former Bishop Wallter F. Hogan offered remarks concerning his life long association with the deceased after which Evelyn B. Parry rendered the selection "Aloha" on her violin. She was accompanied by Aredella H. Mills.
Bishop Lawrence Moss of Orchard ward was the next speaker after which Joseph Wood accompanied by Ardella Mills sang, Hold Thou My Hand. The closing prayer was offered by Andrew Gymon. Frank Davis dedicated the grave in the Bountiful city cemetery.
Pallbearers were Edwin R. Haacke, Arch Boulton, Phillip Schmidt, Asa Brown, Wilford Hatch and David S. Moss. Honorary pallbearers were members of the South Bountiful High Priests quorum.
George Quincy Hatch was born May 9, 1879 at Woods Cross. On Dec 18, 1901 he married Clarrisa Howard who passed away Feb 26, 1948.
His early life was devoted to farming but just prior to his last illness and death he was employed by Ragnor and Benson Construction Company. He was a member of the South Bountiful High Priest quorum.
Survivors include Floyd Q. Hatch of Bountiful; Mrs. Ralph (Della) Streeper of Centerville, and Mrs. Lewis (Pauline) Weathers of Ventura, Calif. Also one sister, Mrs. Clara Varley of Salt Lake City and eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
