She married Louie Bowen Mead before 1915 and the pair had three children. According to Louie Bowen Mead's obituary, they were married in 1911. However, phone book records show that Louie Bowen Mead was single and living in Amarillo, Texas in 1914 when their son, Cheser Bowen Mead was conceived. Louie was working as a Driver for the M & L Transfer Company and living at 511 Monroe. Louie's obituary also states that Fannie was from Grand Saline, Texas. While I have not yet located a marriage record for them, Louie Bowen Mead is on the 1910 Census in Potter County, Texas, so regardless of where Fannie was born, their marriage probably took place in Potter County, Texas. Fannie is located in Van Zandt County, Texas in the 1900 Census with her father, James M. Cheser. However, James M. Cheser is located in Montague County, Texas in the 1880 Census, so I feel that it is more likely that Forestburg, Montague County, Texas is her place of birth.
Claiborne Mead, Ethel Mae Mead and Cheser Bowen Mead.
Claiborne's birth certificate lists Forestburg, Texas, an unincorporated community in Montague County, Texas, as Fannie's place of birth. This is in conflict with later documents but it is possible that it may be her place of birth.
She herself died on June 14th of 1968 in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas.
