He was one of 8 children born to Mary Marshall Wesner and Laurence Martin Wesner. He attended St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia and served on the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Thorn in the Pacific during WWII. He worked for 40 years in the specialty realm of reinsurance at Nationwide Insurance Co. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Therese Joan Glancy Wesner on October 13, 2011. He is is survived by a sister, Ann Wesner Lewis of West Yarmouth, MA; five children, Paul (Linda) Wesner of Lewis Center, OH; Mary Bushek of Worthington; Anne (Edward) Miller of Worthington; Michael (Kathy) Wesner of Canton, OH; and Joseph (Stephanie) Wesner of Worthington. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Therese Wesner Neff; and six siblings: brothers William, Laurence and Michael; and sisters Mary Agnes Wesner, Catharine Wesner Roddy and Jeanne Wesner Bunyan.
