Reynold A. Hoebelheinrich, age 95, of Menominee, Nebraska, died Monday, May 13, 2019, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, South Dakota.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 AM, on Friday, May 17, 2019 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Menominee, Nebraska with Reverend Jim Keiter officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wynot American Legion Post No. 31. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Thursday, May 16 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with a vigil service and rosary at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.

Pallbearers are Adam Rice, David Hoebelheinrich, Tyler Hoebelheinrich, Eric Leise, Scott Manchester, Jake Manchester and Joe Manchester.

Reynold was born May 25, 1923 in Menominee, Nebraska to Martin and Christina (Wieseler) Hoebelheinrich. He grew up on a farm near Menominee. On February 22, 1945, Reynold joined the United States Navy and served aboard the hospital ship USS Relief in the Pacific Theater during World War II. On April 25, 1950, he married Elizabeth Boecker in Crofton, Nebraska. After their marriage, they lived in the home where Reynold was born. He continued farming the rest of his life. Reynold was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. He served as a lector, EME, president of the parish council and West Catholic School Board. He taught junior and senior CCD and was a delegate for the diocese and deanery. Reynold was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as the County Committee Chairman for a number of years. Reynold loved farming, hunting, and nature, especially his blue bird trails. He had a great sense of humor and loved being around his grandchildren. Reynold spent the last year of his life at Avera Sister James Care Center where he received excellent care from the Country Retreat staff.

Reynold is remembered by his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth of Menominee; seven children: Elaine (Randy) Bruening of St. Helena, NE, Karla (Jim) Rice of Osmond, NE, Warren Hoebelheinrich of Menominee, John (Beth) Hoebelheinrich of Yankton, Robert (Bobbi) Hoebelheinrich of Eden Prairie, MN, Lisa (Tom) Leise of Omaha, NE and Joan (Brian) Manchester of Blair, NE; a special nephew, Marvin (Doreen) Steffen of Oklahoma City, OK; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Reynold was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roland Hoebelheinrich; two brothers, Clarence and Martin Hoebelheinrich; and three sisters: Evelyn Ballinger, Viola Steffen and Cyrilla Jones.
