Anne Pontrella, affectionately known as Nancy, passed away peacefully in her home, on Wednesday, May 9, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was 91 years old.
Nancy was born in Newark, N.J., and raised in Belleville, N.J. She married James in 1953 and the couple raised their four children in Belleville.
She attended St. Peter's Elementary School, St. Cecilia's HS and St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing School, graduating as a registered nurse. Her career took her to Mountainside Hospital, where she was a head nurse, and at St. Michael's Hospital.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James; her sons, James Jr. (Sharon), John (Mary); her daughters, Mary Lansmann (Richard), Anne Soliman (Michael); her brother, James McLoughin (Akiko), 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
