Nora Margaret Jenkins, 76 longtime resident of Muskogee, entered Heaven’s gates on Thursday, May 9, 2019. She was born to Jeff F. and Lula Belle (Darrow) Cox on November 7, 1942 in Okay, Oklahoma.

She grew up and attended the public schools, graduating with the class of 1961. She furthered her education by attending Bacone College, receiving an Associate’s Degree.

On November 15, 1963, Nora married the love of her life, Roy Dale Jenkins, in her parents’ home in Okay, Oklahoma. They have shared 56 years of life and happy marriage together. Roy and Nora have been active members at Eastern Heights Baptist Church. Nora has faithfully worked in VBS, the church nursery, and helped cook at youth summer camps at Falls Creek. Also, for many years, she played the organ and piano at the Church and helped cook and serve the Wednesday evening meal at Church. She enjoyed working by Roy’s side at the family business, Roy D. Jenkins & Associates CPA; they retired in 2015.

Some of Nora’s favorite pastimes were going to the Big 12 Baseball Tournaments, and short-term camping and visiting her family. Her family recalls her excellent cooking skills and how she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff & Lula Belle Cox; her grandparents, Joseph C & Fannie M. (Garrison) Darrow.

Nora is survived by her husband, Roy Jenkins, of Muskogee; her daughter, Lisa L. Harris (Scotte) of Kemah, TX; sister, Frances Darrow and husband Jack; brother, Arthur Cox of Muskogee; brother-in-law, Clifford Darrow and wife Martha of Hulbert, OK; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

A celebration of Nora’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Eastern Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Darren Wallace officiating.
Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, OK.
