WILLIAM AARON RAIKE
(1901-1954)

Following a 10-week illness, William Aaron Raike, 53, died Tuesday at 7:20 p.m. at his home at 1107 S. Third St., Ironton. Mr. Raike was a former Portsmouth resident, having located in Ironton nine years ago.

A son of the late James and Rosa Armes Raike, Mr. Raike was born Feb. 20, 1901, at Quincy, Ky.

In Portsmouth, Mr. Raike was employed as a shoeworker, but since locating to Ironton, he had engaged in the restaurant business.

Mr. Raike was a member of the Ironton Elks and the United Commercial Travelers.

Surviving are the wife, the former Adah Lawhorn; two brothers, James Raike, 1401 Ninth St., and Ernest Raike of Lucasville Rt. 2; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Reynolds, 1806 Eighth St., and Mrs. Jennie Christian, 2116 Mabert Rd.

Mr. Raike was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Frank Feuchter Funeral Home in Ironton and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Wheelersburg. The body will remain at the funeral home.
