TOLBERT, SERGEANT FIRST CLASS GLENN DAVID, RET., passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the age of 59 in Augusta, Georgia. He was born March 20, 1951 and was raised in Colbert County, AL. SFC Tolbert was a 1970 graduate of Colbert County High School. He Joined the US Army Reserve in April 1970 and remained an active member until his retirement. SFC Tolbert continued to work for the Department of Defense at Fort Gordon, Georgia. SFC Tolbert received numerous awards and commendations throughout his career with the Army Reserve, most recently the Superior Civilian Service Award. He was considered by superiors and subordinates as an outstanding soldier and civilian employee.

SFC Tolbert is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tolbert; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Posey; and grandson, Joshua Dill. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Dill (Gary), Adamsville, AL; son, Rodney Tolbert (Glorianne), West Palm Beach, Fl and his children's mother, Elaine Perkins, Gardendale, AL; by his parents, David H. and Gwynell Tolbert, Leighton, AL; sisters: Linda Tolbert Counts (Ray), Tuscumbia, AL and Janice Tolbert, Leighton, AL; and grandchildren: Tasha, Jeremy, Brayden and Dakota Dill; Kyler, Chase and Mia Tolbert.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel at 12:00 pm, with interment at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
