◙ ◙ ◙ ◙

Elizabeth Eisenbise was born in 1830 in Pennsylvania to Polly Brown and Peter Eisenbise.

Before 1860, the Eisenbise family emigrated from Pennsylvania to Carroll County, Illinois, by way of Elkhart County, Indiana, and Delaware County, Ohio.

Polly probably died in Ohio in 1847, and Peter was remarried to Julia Ann (Elder) Rutan in Indiana in 1848.

While still in Indiana, in February of 1848, Elizabeth married a widower named Henry Blough. Elizabeth was about 18 years old, and Henry was about 18 years her senior.

Henry's first wife, Leah Weaver, had died in about 1846, leaving Henry with three children aged six years to infancy.

Elizabeth and Henry had two children together: Noah in 1850; and Julia A. in 1852 (perhaps named after Elizabeth's stepmother, suggesting a certain amount of affection between the two women).

Henry Blough passed away on May 5, 1891, in Carroll County, at the age of 78. They had been married 43 years.

Elizabeth died in 1898 in Carroll County, Illinois, when she was 68 years old. She was buried at the Arnold's Grove Cemetery alongside her husband, and near her father, stepmother, and other kin and friends.
