GALENA, KANSAS, Grace Deardorff, age, 93, 1302 Main Street, died at 11:15 am, Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Galena, KS following a long illness.
She was born October 16, 1911 at Galena, Kansas. Her parents were Charles William and Cora Lucy (Andrews) Walker. She had lived in Galena all of her life.
She was a homemaker, and had previously been employed by Empire District Electric Co, Spencer Chemical Company, and Mon-Chem Trucking Co, doing clerical work.
She was the oldest member of First Christian Church, Galena, KS; The Galena Womans Club; and the Reciprocity Club.
She was married to Jack R. Deardorff on April 4, 1948 at Galena, KS. He preceded her in death March 17, 1983.
Surviving is one son, Richard Deardorff, (wife, Kay) Joplin, MO; 6 grandchildren; Blake Deardorff, Grant Deardorff, Drew Deardorff, Chad Denton, Jason Denton, and Jeremy Denton; 4 nephews, Jim Walker, John Walker, Bill Walker, and Bob Scott; and two nieces, Janice Vogle, and Barbara Moore.
A graveside service was held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Hill Crest Cemetery, Galena, KS under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
