Kelly Dean Clark, local resident, businessman and entrepreneur died peacefully last week, after a courageous battle with infection and the chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease, Myasthenia gravis. He was 82.

Born in 1936, Hollis, Harmon County, Oklahoma the family moved west in the early '40 where his parents Bert C Clark and Lula Mae Cheatham Clark established a home and business in Tolleson, Maricopa County, Arizona. After graduation from TUHS Class of 1954 he continued education at Phoenix College and Arizona State University. Kelly and Rita Perrin married, 7 Apr 1957, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Tolleson.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, he leaves son Greg and wife Kynan and daughter Cheryl Clark Stoner, six grandchildren and greats who are missing their "POPa Kelly", nephew Larry Clark, and nieces Sandra Oliver (Ed) and Karen Ellis (Dave); brothers-in-law, Delbert Coaly (Jeanette) and James W Perrin, Jr (Cindy).

Kelly started early establishing some of his many Phoenix area business pursuits,
including Kelly Clark Automotive Specialist, first at 12th Street and Glendale Ave,
then 19th Street and Bethany and another at 40th St and Shea where he worked along side his children, as he had with his father, Bert Clark and Son, so many years ago.

Kelly acquired many close friendships in his lifetime. He was a kind, energetic and caring person. He will be missed by all who knew him. He lived life to the fullest, worked hard, and played hard, including envolvement thru the years with Speed Boats, House Boats, Sand Rails, 4 wheelers and Trackers and the last years his airplane. Kelly enjoyed Barrett Jackson car shows, Phoenix Golf and Motor Events and Races, he and Rita even managed to attend the Kentucky Derby one year.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister Edna Mae Clark Amerson, brother Alvin Drew Clark and wife Doris Thrasher Clark.

Regretfully, retirement was cut short when soon after dispersing from his day to day business activities, Kelly was diagnosed with this chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease, which he fought with all the fervor and spirit he had shown in his professional endevors. " Forever in our Hearts".
