David Alan Coffee was born on Monday, March 17th, 1952 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Eli and Elizabeth (Johnson) Coffee. He passed from this life surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 in Tahlequah, OK, after attaining the age of 67 years, 1 month, and 17 days. David was a hardworking man clear up to the day the Lord called him home. Starting out at Greenleaf Nursery and then Mid-Western Nursey, then finished his last 22 years of labor at Whirlpool of Tulsa. He made many friends along the way, mostly by being a big jokester. He loved to make people laugh or just to laugh at you. He was happiest when surrounded by the grandchildren he adored. It didn’t matter if it was on a river, kayaking, fishing, cooking on an open fire, exploring the world around them, taking vacations, or mapping out the stars, Grandpa was their number one fan in anything they accomplished. The best day of the week was Sunday, when his family gathered together to enjoy a meal and a laugh or two.
David is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one brother, Robin Coffee. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Nora Weaver of the home in Tahlequah, daughter Elaine Veales and husband Robert, step daughter Amy Weaver and fiancé Brian Coon, and stepson Mikky Weaver, all of the Tahlequah community. He lives on in his four grandchildren, Cameron Veales and Naomi Veales, Emily Romo and Kaytlynn Romo. There is one great granddaughter, Zimrie Veales. He also leaves four special grand children, Niley Reese, Cameron, Jackson, and Maybree Coon. He leaves his brothers and sisters, Leonard Coffee and wife Roberta of California, Jim Coffee and wife Mary of Kansas, Steven Coffee of Westville, OK, Linda Sarren and Deena Johnson of Tahlequah. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
