Margaret was the eldest child of Jacob and Eliza Spawr. She first married Alexander Blake and he died in 1854 when she and the Blake children, Enos, Adna, and Oscar, are found living with her parents on the 1860 census. Later she married Benjamin Fitzgerald. She was first laid to rest next to her mother in Scrogin Cemetery in Lexington and later the Spawr graves were all moved to Lexington Cemetery.
