Byron Cooper
Byron Odell Cooper, 45, died Tuesday afternoon at a Kansas City, Mo. hospital following a short illness.
Born and raised in Nodaway County, near Guilford, Mo., he was a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville.
Mr. Cooper had been in the grain and elevator business prior to owning a construction business.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church at Richmond, the Richmond Masonic Lodge, the Shirkey Country Club at Richmond, and the Ararat Shrine of Kansas City.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of the home; one daughter, Renee Cooper, of the home; two sons, Bret Cooper and Eric Cooper, both of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis T. Cooper, St. Joseph; one sister, Leona Capehart, St. Joseph; and three brothers, Ellis T. Cooper, Jr., St. Joseph, Wayne R. Cooper, Amarillo, Texas, and L. Max Cooper, Greenwood, Ind.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church at Richmond, with burial in the Richmond cemetary under the direction of the Thurman funeral home, Richmond.
