After her death in 1933 he married Florence Ellen Bocock on 11 Jun 1934 in St George's Cathedral, Cape Town. Lived at The Knoll, Stanley Road, Rondebosch, Cape Town. Died of exhaustion and cardiac failure aged 66 years.
