Geo. Braithwaite, an old resident of this city, passed away Thursday afternoon. He had been in poor health for several years, and the accident he received in falling from a load of hay kept him bedfast until his death. Mr. Braithwaite was born in England, March 5th, 1835 and has been in this country since early manhood. He was appointed city sexton for a number of years which position he held at the time of his death. He has reared a family of thirteen children, ten of whom are living. Mr. Braithwaite was a good, honest and energetic gentleman and was respected as such by all of our citizens. Funeral services will be held in the council house Monday.
