Kenneth R. Konitzer
Kenneth R. Konitzer, 41, Rt. 1, Abrams, died Thursday at a Green Bay hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 7, 1936 in Oconto Falls, he moved to Green Bay in 1937, entered the U.S. Army in 1955 and remained in active service until he was medically discharged in 1967. Mr. Konitzer achieved the rank of chief warrant officer. He married Merilla Belanger, Jan. 3, 1956.
Mr. Konitzer organized and was active in scouting in Abrams and was district chairman of Northern Lights District. He was the town chairman of Abrams and past post commander of the American Legion of Stiles.
Survivors include his wife, Merilla, Abrams; three sons, Roger, Randy, Scott, all at home; two brothers, James, Green Bay, Maynard, De Pere; one sister, Mrs. Sandra McGlothen, Green Bay; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Konitzer, Green Bay; his grandmother, Hilda Busse, Green Bay; other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Soulek Funeral Home, Oconto Falls, after 4 p.m. Sunday. Virgil 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Abrams, with the Rev. David Mineau officiating. Burial in Nicolet Memorial Gardens, Green Bay. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for scouting.
