James M. Konitzer, 82, of Green Bay, passed away early Monday, May 5, 2014, after a brief illness.

He was born November 12, 1931 in Oconto Falls to the late Martin and Edna (Busse) Konitzer.

On February 11, 1956 he married Loretta Lewins in Green Bay.

They celebrated 58 years of marriage in February.Jim served in the National Guard from 1950 to 1956. He worked at Georgia Pacific on Day Street, for 44 years. Jim was a great husband, dad and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was the biggest Packer fan and has had season tickets since the stadium opened. Jim liked bowling, fishing, cribbage and lawn jarts. He was a big Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed campfires up north and sitting outside in his backyard during the warmer weather.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta; five children, Dan Konitzer, Sue (Pete) King, Tom (Sheri) Konitzer, Jerry (Cindy) Konitzer and Joanne (Cal) Janus; eleven grandchildren, Chris (Sara) King, Brent (fiance' Sara) King, Karen (Tom) Spear, Kevin and Mark Gergisch, Sierra and Trevor Konitzer, Zander and Zac Janus; two great-grandchildren; also survived by one brother, Maynard (Donna) Konitzer; one sister, Sandra (Bob) McGlothlen; a sister-in-law Mert Konitzer.He was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara and Linda; his brother, Ken Konitzer.
