Mrs. Dorothy Elaine Mintz Forrest, 65, of Woods Hollow Lane, Thomasville passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Hospice of Davidson County. Elaine was born June 5, 1953 in Haywood County to Elmer and Dorothy Mae Mintz. As a profession, she was a seamstress until she fulfilled God’s plan for her as a wife to Roger and mother to Jesse. She was a member of Amazing Grace Freewill Baptist Church. Elaine was married to Roger Forrest for 49 years and dedicated the last 31 years to being Jesse’s caregiver and loving mother. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Mintz. Elaine is survived by her husband, Roger Forrest and her son Jesse Leonard Forrest of the home; mother, Dorothy of Thomasville; a special nephew, Wayne Draughn and wife Debbie of Thomaville; several nieces and nephews; special friends; and fur-babies, Bubbles and Mia. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Johnny Daniels officiating. Interment will follow the service in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family would like to acknowledge all the friends and family who have loved and supported them through this battle with many thanks.
