ROBERT CERASE, 86, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp., NJ.

He was born in Newark, NJ, and resided in Parlin, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson Twp., 9 years ago.

Robert was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean War Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Prior to his retirement in 2010, Robert was a self-employed owner and operator of the Vacuum Clinic in Matawan, NJ, since 1980, serving the industry since 1959.
He was a member of the Church of the Master United Methodist Church, Howell Twp., NJ. Robert was a lifelong New York Yankee fan and was an avid bowler.

He was predeceased by his parents, Emanuel and Mildred Cerase; his brother, Joseph Cesare; and by his sister, Marie Coppola. Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Cerase; his son, William Cerase and his wife, Carole; his daughters, Deborah Esposito and her husband, Charles, and Cynthia Howard and her husband, James; his 7 grandchildren, Victoria, Daryl, John, Nikolas, Susan, Elisa, and Charles, Jr.; and by his 6 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 4-8 PM on Monday, April 22, 2019, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 11:00 AM in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Arneytown, NJ 08562.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the Robeson County Humane Society, 3180 W. 5th St., Lumberton, NC 28358 and would be greatly appreciated.
