She was born on June 7, 1905, in the town of Humboldt to Henry and Johanna (Detrie) VandenBush.
Mabel married Clarence Deffke in 1925. She belonged to St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a past member of their Altar Society.
She liked to sew for her family. She will be sadly missed by them.
Survivors include her four daughters, Dolores (Norman) Destree, Two Rivers; Lucille Deffke, Green Bay; Shirley (Wallace) Tielens, Green Bay; Carol (Gabriel) Le Cloux, Green. Bay; 30 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Gene Rentmeester, Green Bay; one sister, Bertha Jauquet, Luxemburg; two sisters-in-law, Josephine VandenBush, Green Bay; Viola Keyser, Bellevue; two brothers-in-law, Pete Martin, Luxemburg; Frank Krines, Stangelville.
Preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mercedes Rentmeester and infant son, Merlin; three sisters, Mae Umentum, Annie Martin, Margaret Skaletski-Krines; six brothers, Albert, Bill, John, Martin, Art and Clarence.
Friends may call at Proko Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
