"Mildred Summers, 83, 1460 S. Graham Creek Rd., Covington, died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Born April 7, 1915 in Wabash Township, Fountain County, she was the daughter of Frank Emerson and Clara Richardson Allen. She married Paul Summers July 2, 1932 in Rockville, who survives.

She was a life resident of the Covington area. She was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ and Wabash Township Birthday Club.

Survivors besides the husband include: daughter, Barbara Bushue, Covington; sons, Robert (Margaret) Summers, West Lebanon, Joseph (Jane) Summers and Keith Summers, all of Covington;15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Hoaks; brothers, Archie Lawrence Allen, Virgil Emerson Allen, Frank Melben Allen, Lewis Perl Allen; and a sister, Elizabeth Kelley.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. tonight (Friday)." – Fountain County Neighbor, October 23, 1998
