Billie (June) Strickland, 89 of Angleton (formerly of Lake Jackson) passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She left to be with Jesus on April 13, 2019. June was born in Milfay, Oklahoma, February 24, 1930 to Bryant and Mamie Hancock.

June was preceded in death by her husband, John of 42 years; her parents; five sisters; and one brother; two infants; and one great grandson.

She is survived by her daughters, Caryn (Jeff) Jones of Buffalo Texas, Nancy (John) Cook of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cindy (Mark) Williams of Angleton, Texas. She also has seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

June loved God, church, missions, family, flowers, baking and serving others. She spent much of her life teaching children in Sunday School. She taught two year olds for over twenty-five years.

She made seven mission trips to Africa in her later years. She loved the people there. Because of her passion for missions and love for children you may honor her with a contribution to Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, North Carolina 28607.

A memorial service will be held at Northway Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas on Wednesday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation is at 1:00 p.m. and a private family burial will be held at Restwood Cemetery in Clute, Texas.
