Mrs. Bennett died Friday at Murfreesboro Health Care Center following an extended illness. A Rutherford County native, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Burgess Sr. Mrs. Bennett was a retired clerk from Goldsteins.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin Bennett; a brother, E. G. Burgess of Murfreesboro; and five sisters, Nannie Lee and Ellen Rose Lee, both of Smyrna, Clea Hayes, Francis McDonald and Effie Batey, all of Murfreesboro.
