He married Nancy Jordan and they had 15 children: William, David, Sarah , John, Hannah, Susan, Katherine, James B, Mary Jane, Rachel, Nancy, Elizabeth, Emily, Lavinia & Harvey. The mother was a daughter of Martin Jordan and she lived until age 73, and they both were buried in the old McClure Cemetery. They were members of the Presbyterian Church.
