Abbie Lee Buckman, 91, of Heritage House, East Hampton Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday in General Hospital.
The former Abbie Lee, she was born in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late George F. and Phebe (sic) English Lee. Mrs. Buckman was a graduate of the Emma Willard School, Troy, N.Y. She was a life resident of Wilkes-Barre and Glen Summit. An active volunteer with the Women's Auxiliary of General Hospital for many years, Mrs. Buckman was one of the founders of the present hospital hospitality shop. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre. Her husband, Dr. Lewis T. Buckman, died in 1985.
Surviving is a son, Ernest U., Pittsburgh; daughters, Mrs. William Sewall, Bath, Maine; Mrs. John Gregson, Woodstock, Va.; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from the chapel at Glen Summit with Rev. Dr. Jule Ayers, pastor emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Private interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township, at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Women's Auxiliary of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
