She died at Omaha, Nebraska, Wednesday evening.
The remains were accompanied thither by a sister, Mrs. Maggie Felgar, of Newton, Kansas, and the obsequies were held at the Mendon Congregational church, Reverend Brown of Payson officiating. Interment was in the local cemetery.
Miss Huston was 69 years old. She came to Mendon when about 12 years of age, and later, was a teacher in the local high school, for about twenty years, serving as principal of the high school for one year. Then, she went to Omaha, where she was, for eight years, Matron in a private hospital conducted by her uncle, Robert McClelland.
Returning to Mendon, she made her home with a sister, Mrs. Anna Felgar, of this place, with whom, in fact, she made her home during most of her entire residence here.
Surviving are three sisters: Mrs. John Grover of Yelf, Washington; Mrs. Maggie Felgar of Newton, Kansas; and Mrs. Anna Felgar of this place. Mrs. Anna Huston, also of Mendon, is a sister in law, and Thomas McClelland, president of Knox college of Galesburg, and Robert McClelland of Omaha, are uncles of the deceased.
Miss Huston was a noble woman of highest purposes, and splendid ability, and not all who mourn her passing were gathered around her bier last evening, for there are good people scattered all over the country who received inspiration as well as mental training at her hands.
