Dr. William W. Adams Jr. was born to William Adams and Cora Logan, whoStanford, KY. “Doc”, as he was called, followed another career path. Obstetrics and Gynecology was his career, for fifty years.

In 1950, Doc graduated from Meharry Medical College, in Nashville, TN.In June 1966, he moved to St. Louis, MO; to do a second residency at Homer G. Phillips Hospital. He married Cathryn Inman and lived in University City, MO with children;Coralynne, Joanne and William III.

Dr. Adams practiced in Lovejoy, now Brooklyn, IL. In 1970, he moved to became a managing partner of “The Group”, which developed the Shop City, 4601 State Street Medical Building.

Dr. Adams practiced medicine at Christian Welfare Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital. Centreville Hospital, now Touchette Regional Hospital, honored him in 1999 by naming the Obstetrics Department after him. He also served as Chief of Staff. Dr. Adams retired from SIHF, just before his 75th birthday.
