Vadus McClendon Adams, 77, of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Austin, IN, passed away on March 21, 2019 in Haines City, FL.

Vadus was born March 28, 1941 in Perry Co., KY to Townsel Wiley and Verda (Napier) Adams, both of who preceded him in death.

On June 14, 1963 at the Austin Church of God in Austin, IN, Vadus married Saundra Fugate, who survives in Winter Haven, FL.

Vadus was a 1959 Austin High School graduate and he earned his Associate Degree from Hanover College. He retired from Cummins Engine Co. on December 25, 1999 after 40 years of service. He was a member of Scottsburg Church of God and Grace Pointe in Winter Haven, FL. Vadus loved music, was a singer, worship leader, and traveled many years with his wife and her family singing the gospel. Their gospel group was The Son Sheradon Singers. Vadus enjoyed playing golf, liked cars, and was a Kentucky Wildcats fan.

Vadus is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Saundra, his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Mechelle Adams and Joseph Heard of Winter Haven, FL, and his 2 granddaughters, Kathryn Gabrielle Heard and Cassidy Grace Heard.

Funeral services will be conducted by Vadus’ son-in-law, Joseph Heard and his brother-in-law, Sonny Fugate on Vadus’ 78th Birthday, to celebrate his life on March 28, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Scottsburg, burial will follow at New Providence Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from Noon until 1:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Scottsburg.
