Lawrence (Ted) William Bender, the third oldest of the nine children born to George Bender and Cecelia Ratterman, was born on November 23, 1906, at Cornlea, Nebraska. He grew up in this community and received his education in Sacred Heart Parish School there.

He was united in Marriage to Pauline Stovick on June 8, 1935, at St. Cecelia Cathedral, Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on March 6, 1908, the daughter of Joseph Stovick and Matilda Krueger.

Mr. Bender owned and operated a restaurant, Bender's Drive In, in Bellevue, Nebraska. He retired in 1972. Mrs. Bender owned a beauty shop. She retired in 1974.
