Ethel Claire Bender, the fourth oldest of the nine children born to George Bender and Cecelia Ratterman, was born on October 13, 1908, at Cornlea, Nebraska. She was baptized at Sacred Heart Church in Cornlea on the day of the dedication of that church. She grew up in this community and received her education in Sacred Heart Parish School there.
She was united in Marriage to Edgar Morris Roney on September 8, 1930. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Woodland Hills, California. He was born in Montrose, Kansas May 28, 1911. She was a graduate of Columbus, NE. High School

Alan Brian born May 8, 1939, Woodland Hills, California; He has four children.
