Gorman Russell Findlay, 88, of Marbleton, WY passed away at his home Sunday December 28, 2014.

Gorman was born March 28, 1926 in Kemmerer to Alfred and Deloras (Corless) Findlay. He attended schools in Diamondville and Kemmerer until the time WWII broke out; he then enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in the Pacific Theater and was a part of 7 major sea battles.

He married his sweetheart Betty Jean Moon February 2, 1947 in Frontier, WY and was blessed with two daughters Faye and Delores.

Gorman was a member of Eastern Star Shiners, Big Piney Masonic Lodge #47 and the V.F.W. He enjoyed the outdoors, western history and lapidary (creating jewelry out of rocks).

He is survived by his daughters Faye Costa of South Elgin, Ill and Delores Findlay of Rock Springs; three brothers Fred, Lynn and Chet Findlay; two sisters Sandy Ashmont and Beth Marshall. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty and sister Elaine Greaney.
