1946 - 2016

Chet Blake Findlay, 70, passed away June 1, 2016 in Payson. He was born April 10, 1946 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Alfred Russell and Arlene Dalley Winters Findlay. He married Josie Anderson, they later divorced.

He served in the Army in Vietnam where he received two Purple Hearts, and was awarded the Bronze Star, an air medal and other awards. He also worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and then re-enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He received an honorable discharge from the military, then worked for Utah Power and Light until retirement. He was a kind, gentle, caring man. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially wild animals.

He is survived by son, Jeremy Lee (Nicole) Findlay, WA; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Fred (Lela) Findlay, Big Piney, WY; Lynn (Dayle) Findlay, Richfield, UT; Sandra (Darwin) Ashment, Riverton, UT; Beth (Robert) Marshall, Huntington, UT.

Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christie May Findlay; sister, Elaine (Jim) Greaney; brother, Gorman (Betty) Findlay.

Graveside services will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Military Rites by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
