Mrs. Catherine McGettigan, 425 South Main Ave., died in State Hospital this afternoon, where she had been a surgical patient.

Mrs. McGettigan was born in North Scranton, daughter of the late James and Mary Jane Naughton. She was educated in Holy Rosary Parochial School. Mrs. McGettigan was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, and its organizations.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mary J. Bakaysa and Mrs. Catherine Strutski, this city, and Mrs. Anna Garamone, East Orange, NJ; a son, James, New York City; two brothers, Thomas and Frank Naughton, this city; six sisters, Mrs. Anna Rinaldi, Mrs. Grace Rock, Mrs. Delores Foley, Mrs. Nora Irwin and Mrs. Marie Brogan, this city, and Mrs. Mollie Ketrick, Kingston; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be from the Durkan Funeral Home, 238-40 Adams Ave., with mass in St. John's Church at a time to be announced. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, starting tomorrow, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 P.M.
