George Thomas Odle was born Sept. 1st, 1870, at Portsmouth, Ohio. This was his home until after he was thirty years old. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Smith of Portsmouth, March 28th, 1897. Five boys and three girls came to bless this union, seven of which still survive.

After making his home in several different places he came with his family to Camp Seven in 1929, where all but two sons still reside.

Mr. Odle has been in poor health for a number of years and since his wife's death July 12th, 1933, he has failed rapidly. This ill health cumulated in a stroke on the morning of Wednesday, April 18th, 1934, and at 10:00 o'clock that morning, he joined his wife in her Eternal home, lacking just a few minutes of being nine months and four days since her demise.

Mr. Odle was known in this community as a kind and loving father, always trying to help even beyond his feeble strength. Two sons and three daughters were with him at the end.

One son, Henry Adam, now a member of the U.S. Army, was unable to be here. Members of the family present, were: Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Westgate and son; George Emerson Odle; John Hanan Odle; Mr. and Mrs. Delphian Earl Odle and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Steinbach and three children; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dechand and two children; also a nephew Thos. Malone.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 20th, at 2 p.m. at Appleton, Rev. C.E. Hanes officiating. M.W. Chapman had charge of the funeral arrangements.
